For more than ten years the HFT has been conducting
research, particularly in the fields of building physics,
building technology, geoinformatics and techno-mathematics.
The research programmes are concentrated under one roof at
the Joseph-von-Egle Institute, named after the famous
Stuttgart master of urban planning. In the areas of building
acoustics, heat insulation, thermal building physics and the
utilisation of solar energy, the institute is among the most
renowned German institutes for applied research and
development. A large part of the research done here is in
EU-funded projects and undertaken with international
cooperation. The Egle Institute also engages many research
professors from the fields of civil engineering, surveying,
geoinformatics and applied mathematics.
Towards the end of 2002, a new institute was opened at the
university, the “Centre for applied research at universities
of applied science – sustainable energy technology”
(zafh.net). At this institute, five universities of applied
science from Baden-Württemberg pool their research skills.
Their goal is the development of “intelligent buildings”,
buildings which will be climate-controlled using resources in
an ecologically sound fashion. In the same year, the centre
for building physics was also opened. The facility with its
great variety and diversity of measuring and testing stations
is one of the most modern of its kind in Europe.

If you can read this text, it means you are not experiencing the Plone design at its best.
Plone makes heavy use of CSS, which means it is accessible to any internet browser,
but the design needs a
standards-compliant browser to look like we intended it.
Just so you know ;)
