Project description The aim of the project is to provide a practical demonstration of potential energy savings and give the system operator insights into further optimization options by developing an integrated measuring, control and regulation module for the optimized regulation, measuring and evaluation of thermal cooling systems. The module is to facilitate the simple evaluation of operational data, the identification of additional opportunities for system optimization and in turn enhanced efficiency. Opportunities include – but are not restricted to – improvements in the regulation of ad- and absorption cooling systems and predictive, simulation-assisted fault detection and operational optimization. The applicant, SolarNext AG, aims to use such opportunities to increase customer satisfaction, boost sales of innovative sorption cooling technology and optimize its products and systems with a view to establishing and expanding a competitive edge. In addition to providing SolarNext with support during the development and optimization process, – HFT Stuttgart’s research centre for sustainable energy technology – is also responsible for the implementation of innovative methods involving both the hardware-in-the-loop testing of the control device and simulation-assisted fault detection.
