Centre for Geodesy and Applied Informatics

The research activities of the Centre for Geodesy and Applied Informatics range over the acquisition of territorial data using the methods of surveying, photogrammetry and remote sensing and the processing of this data using the methods of geoinformatics. Focus is on the development of 3D geodata infrastructures in different application areas such as urban planning and mobile navigation. In informatics, the focus is more on the field of fundamentals such as performance optimization and efficient algorithms.

Within the IAF, under the heading of “Energy Efficiency”, is cooperation with the Centre for Sustainable Energy Technology and the Centre for Sustainable Urban Planning.

Current research focuses include, among others

  • Navigation
  • LIDAR
  • Geodesic measurement and sensor technology
