Project description The EU project GIDEC (Geographic information technology for sustainable development in Eastern neighbouring countries) concerned with the sustained support of European partner countries through training of specialists in the field of geographic information technology (GIT). The cooperation between GIT education and the society of the partner countries focuses on strengthening of GIT curricula. Six GIS laboratories are constructed in the three Eastern European partner countries. Employees have been trained and new pedagogy and methods are introduced for quality control. As well as, a web-based e-learning system are set up in each partner country. The HFT contribute in the fields of photogrammetry, GIS and e-learning and guide various work packages.
