| Project description | In order to ensure comfortable interior temperatures in summer constructional and mechanical improvements in buildings are necessary to avoid negative impacts of extreme ambient temperatures in the summer. In this project methods for predictive building control which include weather forecast data will be developed and tested. Starting point are sun shading systems, ventilation and air-conditioning units, concrete core conditioning systems as well as lighting, thermal and electric cooling. Strategies for energetic optimized air-conditioning of buildings will be designed and evaluated by dynamic simulation. Existing building automation solutions are often not very efficient. The integration of the predictive methods in existing automation systems ensures an efficient building operation in newly constructed as well as in existing buildings.Manufacturers of building automation systems and building management tools are integrated in the project with applications in commercial office buildings. |
