Topic 5

Integration of renewable energies <<

Management: Prof. Dr. habil. Ursula Eicker

In future, the intention is that more energy will be produced on-campus than is needed. On the basis of the objectives outlined in the master energy plan (topic 2) and the redevelopment strategy (topic 4), a concept is to be developed as to how far the remaining energy needs for electricity, heating, refrigeration, and mobility can be met by local and renewable resources such as – first and foremost – solar energy but also geothermy and waste heat, waste water and other waste. Due to the high density of buildings and their intensive use and the restrictions imposed by preservation orders and design restraints, further plans for a renewable energy supply for the immediate vicinity and further afield will be developed together with the neighbours and stakeholders.
