Tasks of the EDPC (Computer Centre) top

As one of the central service facilities the computer centre provides the communication infrastructure for the entire HfT.

First of all the EDPC plans and operates the HfT-Net and its associated central servers. With those servers the Computer Centre provides several services amongst which there are such as access to the internet, the mail system, telecommunications, the e-learning-system and the intranet. To maintain these central service facilities the EPDC develops security concepts and impliments privacy regulations.

Another principal task is the operation and maintenance of computer supplied rooms for courses, classes and training. In addition the EDPC coordinates and assists in the purchasing of hard- and software for the whole HfT.

For the members of the HfT the EPDC provides education and training in the provided service facilities, the diverse applications and the programming languages.

Last but not least the EPDC is understood to give the faculties and the HfT members technical advice and support concerning the usage of information technology.
