First days

With our brochure “Welcome to Stuttgart” we want to simplify your first days in Stuttgart. We know from experience that the beginning in a new country is always hard; one has to find his/her way around all the new surroundings, ways of life, cultural conditions etc.

So, in order not to let you run into a lot of „adventures” and nerve-wrecking incidents once you arrive in Stuttgart, we advise you to read the provided brochure carefully while you are still in your home-country. You will need most of this information during your first days and hours here in Stuttgart. This will help you to „survive“.

Once you have been admitted you will be provided with further information about health insurance, your room reservation or our pick-up-service.

Depending on the circumstances of your arrival it may not always be possible for us to arrange for a “buddy” in order to pick you up at Stuttgart’s airport (Flughafen) or main station (Hauptbahnhof). If this is the case please take the city express train (S-Bahn) to the station „Stadtmitte” and come directly to the International Student Office at the Hochschule für Technik (building 1, third floor, room number 332). Sometimes, especially when arriving late at night, you may prefer to spend the first night in a hotel or youth hostel and then come to the International Office at 9 a.m. in the morning, where we will then help you to do whatever is necessary.

Affordable hostels are found at
