An accreditation has been awarded 1999 (re-awarded 2008) to the international master‘s
program "Photogrammetry and Geoinformatics", introduced in 1999 by
the department of Surveying and Geoinformatics at the Stuttgart
University of Applied Sciences.
The initial external accreditation committee consisting of
- Professors from Universities and Universities of Applied Sciences
- Business Representative
- Student Representative
- Representative of the Ministry of Economics of Baden-Württemberg
has scrutinized the quality of the offered study program.
Criteria for the accreditation included
- the content of teaching and research methods
- relevance to the job market
- success of the graduates on the academic labour market
- qualification of the instructors
- supervision of the students
- support given to the program by the university’s administration
The accreditation was carried out by ASIIN,
a prominant accreditation agency responsible for quality ensurance of study programs in the fields of
engineering science, information technology, natural science and mathematics.
The accreditation committee gave special commendation to the
innovative and success-promissing approach of the english-speeking
study program. The committee praised the commitment of the
program's instructors even before the examination had been fully
completed. The master's program obtained the certificate of accreditation. The University is therewith approved to offer its graduates the academic title "Master of Science"
(MSc).
