The application deadlines are as follows:

Summer-semester (start mid March)

  • October, 15th for citizens of Non-EU-countries
  • December 15th for citizens of EU-countries

Winter-semester (start 1st October)

  • April, 15th for citizens of Non-EU-countries
  • June, 15th for citizens of EU-countries
Admission pre-requisites <<
Applicants for the Master Degree Programme must posses a university degree with grades significantly above average either in computer science requiring at least 3 years of university study or
equivalent knowledge degree with knowledge in

  • Object-oriented Programming
  • Software Engineering
  • Project Management
  • Distributed Systems
  • Algorithms and Data Structures
  • Human Computer Interaction
Further requirements<<
  • Based on the accreditation of this master course, you will take a brief Java examination at the beginning of the first semester, in which we test your knowledge in Java and object oriented programming. This knowledge is absolutely mandatory to ensure your success in the master course. Depending on the result of the test, you will have to take part in an additional Java course in the first semester (24 learning units, costs currently € 125).

Application materials <<
Applicants must send in the following:

  • fully completed and signed application form
  • tabulated, one page, complete resume/curriculum vitae in English
  • a 500 words "Statement of Goals and Objectives", describing previous work, the goals and objectives in pursuing graduate studies at the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences as well as future plans
  • TOEFL score of 550 points (paper-based test), 213 points (computer-based test).85 points (internet-based test)
    The official TOEFL report can be sent directly through the Educational Testing Service (institution code: 8514)
    Or if it is not possible for you to take a TOEFL test we accept a IELTS test with a score of Band 6,5 and higher.
    A TOEFL or an IELTS exam is strictly required for all applicants, except native speakers.
  • Secondary school leaving certificate (GCE O- and A-level, international Baccalaureate, High School Diploma, etc.)
  • Higher education Degrees awarded (e.g. Bachelor Degree (BSc))
    Records must be submitted for all post secondary academic work completed or in process and for all degrees. The records must give detailed information on the content and quality of the student's performance. The student's rank in class should be noted whenever possible. Transcripts should list, for each individual course that was taken, (1) the course title, (2) the marks or grade obtained, and (3) the minimum mark for a "pass". Transcripts must be submitted in both the original language and in English or German.
    All translations must be literal and complete versions of the original records.
    Where the grading system does not follow the German scheme, an explanation of the grading system has to be attached
  • Certification of knowledge in at least one object-oriented programming language (preferably Java)
  • 1 passport photo (4cm x 5cm, with your name and address on the back)
  • 2 recommendation letters
