Dieter Uckelmann studied Mechanical Engineering in Braunschweig and did his PhD at the University of Bremen in the Faculty Production Engineering, PhD topic: Quantifying the Value of RFID and the EPCglobal Architecture Framework in Logistics.
He was engaged at the University of Cambridge (UK, 2009) and the University of Parma (Italy, 2016) as guest researcher. The focus of his research work is in the field of logistics, radio-frequency identification(RFID), the Internet of Things as well as the value of information. Between 2005 and 2012 he was managing director of the LogDynamics Lab at the University of Bremen. Furthermore he is co-editor of the "International Journal of RF-Technologies: Research and Applications". Prior to his academic career he has been working in management positions for several IT companies.
