The programme is accredited 1999 (re-awarded 2008) by ASIIN, the
German Accreditation Agency for Study Programmes in Engineering,
Computer Science, Natural Science and Mathematics.

The accreditation committee gave special commendation to the innovative and success-promissing approach of the english-speeking study programme. The committee praised the commitment of the programme's instructors even before the examination had been fully completed. The master's programme obtained the certificate of accreditation. The University is therewith approved to offer its graduates the academic title "Master of Science" (MSc).
In addition, the programme is certified to satisfy the outcomes of Second Cycle programmes (EUR-ACE Framework Standards for the Accreditation of Engineering Programmes) by the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE).

This Master’s programme achieved excellent results, evaluated as
"Premium Seal" programme in a report written on behalf of the DAAD
in 2009. Moreover, it has successfully established itself as a
leader in teaching, receiving students from all over the world.
Therefore this programme will be supported by the DAAD with
additional incentives for specific purposes and on a
demand-oriented basis with a small number of individual
