Bachelor degree in Computer Science at the HFT Stuttgart

In the winter semester of 2002/03 the Bachelor degree program Computer Science was launched at the HFT Stuttgart. Since establishing the degree the practical relevance of the content and the close cooperation with companies have played an important role. All professors of the course have been previously working within the industry.  All Computer Science disciplines (theoretical, practical, technical and application-oriented computer science) can be found in the curriculum. During the third year, students work one semester in a company as part of a supervised practical study project and deepen their knowledge during the semester with elective modules. In the seventh semester, students complete their bachelor thesis.

Some students use their third year of study in order to take elective courses at a university abroad or to complete the supervised practical study project at a business location abroad. In this way, the students prepare well for the global job market. The program, the International Office and the didactic center support students at the HFT with all aspects of being abroad.

The international Bachelor of Science enables the Computer Science degree graduates to start their career directly with a university degree. Additionally, one can gain further qualifications through the English taught Master program „Software Technology“ at the HFT Stuttgart.
