Business Management at HFT Stuttgart

The Business Management programme at HFT Stuttgart comprises six semesters of study. Students gain the knowledge and skills of a competent business manager and graduate as a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).

Guiding principles: Entrepreneurship and practical orientation

This practically oriented programme is founded on the principle of entrepreneurship and therefore emphasizes the ability to think and act in the interests of corporate success and effectively apply goal-oriented business management techniques. Our primary objective throughout the programme is to empower you to start your career as an entrepreneur able to:

1. Recognize and seek out gaps in the market;

2. Tap into resources and exploit them efficiently;

3. Successfully implement creative ideas and innovations;

4. Act responsibly and independently and manage risk.

The programme also offers you a range of opportunities to develop your soft skills and engage in personal development.
The Supervised Practical Study Project is spent with a company and represents an important element of the programme. Stuttgart is a leading business location and therefore offers you a wealth of potential host companies. You can of course also opt to work elsewhere in Germany or in another country. It goes without saying that your HFT tutors will support you throughout the project.


Language learning is another key element of your studies at HFT Stuttgart. English and either Spanish or Chinese are integrated into the Business Management programme and taught by experienced tutors from the Institute of Foreign Languages . The Institute of Foreign Languages also offers a number of other languages.

Study abroad with ERASMUS Stuttgart! The programme is supervised by the HFT’s International Office and enables you to complete part of your programme at selected partner universities around the globe.


The limited number of places available on the programme ensures an excellent pupil-tutor ratio and in turn a very high standard of supervision. The Business Management programme holds FIBAA accreditation and operates a certified quality management system (complies with DIN EN ISO 9001).
